How I Added Push Notifications To Blogger Blog for FREE With OneSignal

Hey Guys Welcome to my first blog post and i will be focusing on How I Added Push Notifications To My Blog(Which is my first major job on this particular blog) So lets kick off.

First I will explain what Push Notification means(for those knowing about it for the first time).Push Notification is a means of notifying your blog readers instantly after publishing a blog post.Also using Push Notifications enable you send latest blog updates to your blog visitors mobile or  desktop devices even when your blog is not opened in their browsers.

Although not all browsers provide support for web push.With the help of Safari,Chrome and Firefox which totally supports it ,the reach of web push notification is vast.One perfect thing about the web push notification is that a user don't need to give their  email id or other contact details and they also have the ability to unsubscribe from receiving notification easily whenever they want, the opt-ins for web push notifications are higher than emails.
Now that you know what Push Notification is,lets jump to

HOW TO ADD PUSH NOTIFICATION TO BLOGGER BLOG USING ONESIGNAL
You can sign up using your facebook or google account.
    • Click on "Add  New App" Enter your blog name and click "Create"



    • Select “Web Push” from the platforms options and click “Next"


    • Select “Website Builder” & Choose "Blogger" from the intergration options ”


    • Scroll Down and Enter your blog url

    • Next is Permission prompt setup. Click "Add Prompt" Leave the default setup or edit it to your taste and click "Save"


    • Scroll Down and Select "Save"


    • A new page will come up showing you a generated code to add to your site.Now copy that code,go down and click "Finish"


    • Go to your theme section in your  blogger dashboard and click on "Edit Html"

    • Paste the onesignal code generated earlier in the head section of your blogger blog html and click "Save Theme"

    View your blog on Chrome browser (another tab/window if currently using Chrome browser) and subscribe to the push notifications
      That's All.
